Strazik argues grid losses, data centers and rising loads will drive long-term high-voltage upgrades, a market he sizes at $130 billion by 2030.

Today's grid loses as much as 8% from power generation to end use and the upgrade of the grid to higher voltages dramatically reduces energy losses, making the whole grid more economical. In addition, as the existing grid takes on more load with increased building electrification, manufacturing growth, heat pumps and EVs, grid reinforcements to higher voltages will be required.
